Glasshouses

Victorian glasshouses were built by the rich who wanted to capture and control a piece of nature, to collect and claim ownership over these plants for themselves. They created safe, sanitised versions of the real world habitats that we still enjoy visiting today. These collages are made from pages of houseplant manuals - houseplants reflect some of the same desires - creating an environment to escape into, your own piece of tropical paradise in your home.
