These collages are based around photographs I have taken on the foreshore of the river Thames at low tide. Twice a day the turning of the tide hides and reveals an otherworldly landscape in which one can escape the city and travel back in time. In the stones and mud are pieces of the past waiting to be found - clay pipes, pottery shards, ships nails and more. For me these finds spark my imagination - how did they get here? who did they belong to? how long will they stay here? what might the foreshore look like in the future?
